The bet...

I recently lost a bet to T (I am not going into details of the bet because this place is rated PG13 and the bet is most certainly not) but my punishment is that I have to be a servant to T for a full 24 hours. T is collecting.

On Sunday, I have been ordered to make dinner. From scratch. No boxes, no friends, no help. My only limitations are that dinner needs to be ready by 6, and that it be based on a sea food theme, because T likes fish. Ok so wish  me luck but here is my menu plan.. let me know what you think.

I will post pictures of everything after the meal, and let you guys know how it goes!

Appetizer:

Shrimp Cocktail- It's quick, it's easy, and it gives me more time for everything else.

Insert cocktail sauce into wine glass, add shrimp around the edge.

Cocktail Sauce:

1/2 cup Tomato Juice
1 tsp Horseradish
1/2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 tsp Vinegar
1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
1 Parsley spring, chopped

Shrimp:

Large, Devained, Cooked, then Chilled

1st Course:

Clam Chowder:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 large onions, chopped
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 quart shucked clams, with liquid
  • 6 (8 ounce) jars clam juice
  • 1 pound boiling potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 3 cups half-and-half cream
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh dill weed
  •

    2nd Course:

    Clam Linguine:

1 pkg Linguine (I am so not making noodles)

    1/4 lb bacon

    1 Onion, finely Diced

    1 1/3 cup chicken stock

3 Tbsp fresh chopped sage leaves

    1/2 lb baby spinach

    10-12 large fresh boiled clams

    Main Course:

    Lobster Scallops

Real easy here, simply a couple of garlic boiled lobster, served with butter and lemon

And the whole thing is laid out on a set of fresh pan seared scallops.

Wish me luck on the meal!!
